David Gilmour – Luck and Strange Vinyl

David Gilmour returns with Luck and Strange, his first album of new material in nearly a decade. Recorded over five months in Brighton and London, this highly anticipated release features eight brand-new tracks and a stunning reimagining of The Montgolfier Brothers’ “Between Two Points,” with vocals and harp by Romany Gilmour. Produced by Gilmour and Charlie Andrew, known for his work with ALT-J, the album showcases the lyrical brilliance of Polly Samson, Gilmour’s long-time collaborator.

The album brings together an impressive lineup of musicians, including Guy Pratt and Tom Herbert on bass, drummers Adam Betts, Steve Gadd, and Steve DiStanislao, and keyboardists Rob Gentry and Roger Eno. The title track features a special appearance from the late Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright, recorded during a 2007 “Barn Jam” at Gilmour’s house. Will Gardner’s string and choral arrangements add depth to the album’s rich sonic landscape.
